Afripack, as the name suggests, is a packaging company with its roots in Africa. The base may well be South African for now but the desire to spread the Afripack brand into the African continent is obvious. The 100% ownership of the Mauritian operation – Standard Labels Limited – is the start and a clear indication that Afripack intends to make strategic investments that make sense to both shareholders and customers alike.

Partnering companies with a footprint in Africa is one leg of a strategy to grow the consumer flexibles business. Whilst the initial push will be to export packaging produced in the 3 South African plants and the Mauritian plant, regional distribution centers or additional offshore manufacturing capacity is not beyond the future ambitions of Afripack.

Quality products, reliable service and staff dedicated to the export initiative will ensure that the Afripack brand is spread through the continent with integrity.

The businesses currently export into the Indian Ocean Islands, West Africa, East Africa and our Neighboring States. The current plant locations allow for membership of SADC, COMESA, EUR and COI trade agreements. Careful consideration is given to ensure customers work is placed in the correct plant to take advantage of any preferential duty related to these trade agreements.

Afripack has set its medium term export target at 30% of revenue, confirmation of the strategic intent.
